Obsidian Security launches new Australian data centre built on AWS to strengthen customer data sovereignty

Obsidian Security, a leader in SaaS Security, has supported the data sovereignty goals of its Australian customers and extended its reach into the APAC region with the launch of a new data centre in Sydney, Australia.

Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), the new platform region is now available, giving local customers the confidence to deploy Obsidian’s SaaS security solution to not only protect their SaaS but also meet data governance requirements.

Due to the sensitive nature of the data in SaaS applications, businesses are increasingly focused on ensuring that their data remains within their region. Offering the Obsidian Security platform from the new Australian data centre upholds data sovereignty for Australian customers without sacrificing security standards and reinforces Obsidian Security’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of all customers.

“Organisations have moved business-critical data to SaaS for easier and faster business operations. However, traditional on-premise security is falling short of securing these apps, making the safety and locality of this data an urgent necessity. Without the right security in place, attackers can simply steal one set of login credentials and gain access to your entire network of SaaS applications,” said Glenn Chisholm, Co-founder, Obsidian Security.

“Our platform is the only solution that combines application posture with identity security to offer customers complete SaaS security. And with this new data centre, customers can confidently adopt Obsidian to protect their entire SaaS ecosystem without data leaving Australia,” added Chisholm.
