FNT Software – a leading provider of software solutions for the integrated management of IT, data centre and telecommunication infrastructures worldwide – has announced a joint solution with partner DCVUE, LLC, a provider of IT asset inventory solutions, to facilitate IT asset management for customers in the data centre area.
As part of the partnership, FNT Command and FNT StagingArea now seamlessly integrate into DCVUE’s IT asset management software, dcVue, enabling users to accurately identify IT assets and their physical locations within a data centre.
FNT Command provides a comprehensive overview of all areas of IT infrastructures and provides intelligent reporting while FNT StagingArea exchanges, compares and imports large volumes of heterogeneously structured data.
dcVue, which includes associated Android-based mobile devices, is used to verify assets within data centres. Once an accurate picture of a company’s data centre assets and their location is compiled, the system can be used for auditing, monitoring and recording asset movements, additions, changes and deletions from the inventory.
Through the integration into dcVue, FNT helps operators achieve high accuracy of asset information, minimal downtime for maintenance and repairs, optimised planning of equipment purchases and expansions and a simplified software user interface.

With intelligent bar code scanning technology, dcVue quickly provides accurate, catalogued results for data centre asset inventory and audit services. In dcVue’s data collection mode, users can gather information about physical assets throughout the entire data centre. This feature produces a baseline that can be easily imported into FNT’s management solution, FNT Command.
FNT Command then utilises accurate, up-to-date asset information to build out a model of the data centre. dcVue’s verification audit further utilises data from FNT Command to verify location and configuration information while on the data centre floor.
