Following nominations and elections in March and April, the new board of the Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact met for the first time last month. As set out in the Pact’s governance, elections are held for board seats every two years. Candidates are nominated by signatories and elected on the basis of one vote per signatory organisation.
The new board consists of the following six representatives; Matt Pullen (EUDCA); Francisco Mingorance (CISPE); Lex Coors (Digital Realty); Giancarlo Giacomello (Aruba.it); Béla Waldhauser (eco) and Norbert Lemken (German Datacentre Association).
Founding members, EUDCA and CISPE, have permanent board seats, the remaining four seats are divided with two for operator signatories and two for association signatories. The Chair of the board is nominated by their fellow board members following the election. Matt Pullen, the EUDCA’s representative on the board – and EVP and Managing Director, Europe at CyrusOne – was unanimously nominated to continue as Chairperson for the next two years. With 112 signatories, including 27 associations and 85 operating companies, the Pact is highly representative of the entire data centre industry in Europe. Through commitments to stringent goals and measures to assure climate-neutral action, the Pact is leading the way to highly sustainable data centres at the heart of Europe’s digital economy. The recently announced Audit Framework is already being widely utilised by signatories to demonstrate alignment with the goals and principles
