Sparkle, a leading international service provider in Italy and among the top 10 global operators, has announced it has moved its Djibouti Point of Presence (PoP) into the Djibouti Data Center (DDC) selecting it as Sparkle’s IP hub for its expansion to East and South Africa.
The Djibouti Data Center is the first Tier 3 carrier-neutral data center in East Africa with direct access to all major international and regional cable systems connecting the European, Middle Eastern and Asian markets with Africa.
These cables include SEAMEWE 5, AAE-1, SEAMEWE 3, Eassy, SEACOM and EIG; other upcoming cables like DARE and PEACE are also expected to land in the Djibouti Data Center.
The move will enable Sparkle to strengthen the performance of its global Tier-1 IP transit service Seabone providing cost effective, high quality and secure connectivity to local and international OTT’s, ISPs, content and application providers.
In addition to Seabone, customers can benefit from Sparkle’s Ethernet Suite service to connect different international data environments with maximum flexibility and transparency.
DDoS Mitigation and Cleaning solutions – which grant Seabone customers the option to protect their network – and Virtual NAP solutions – which allow customers to access the main Internet Exchange Points without the need of building any proprietary infrastructure – complete Sparkle’s portfolio of services offered via the Djibouti Data Center.
